We are often asked about different SEO tools and what we recommend for various tasks. This is quite difficult to answer because each situation requires a particular dataset which can vary a lot.
There are a couple of ‘de-facto’ tools in my opinion, that form the foundations of any SEO work, SEMrush and AHREFS. Both of these provide a huge amount of detail on how a site is performing (in general terms) and for what pages, keywords and links.
